Attention 8th Graders: We are  looking for Semester 2 Teacher Assistants!   PE TA, Office TA, Classroom TA, Library TA, and Bilingual TA (contact Ms Benzler Lew in C 2) are all needed for second semester.  Please pick up a TA request form from the office or see Ms Gai the 8th grade counselor.

Trivia Challenge  Ms. Denarola, Mrs. Wilhite, and Mr. Lopata invite you to the second Trivia Challenge. It will be held during FLEX Time on Thursday, December 2nd.  To join, you must create a group of 3 or 4. In order to sign up, you must come see Ms. Denarola in A1 before or after school.

Quiz Bowl:  Do you like playing games?  What about math, science, literature or history?  All of these go together in the unique game of quiz bowl!  Quiz bowl is a competitive fast-paced buzzer game.  Not only is this a great learning experience while spending time with friends, but we can even reach a notable level of competition like regionals or nationals.  Meetings are Tuesdays after school from 2:45-3:45 PM, with the first meeting on Tuesday, November 30.  If you have any questions, please see Ms Dey in room E2

Canned Food Drive continues through Dec. 10.  Don’t forget to help your first period class try to meet and beat the Merit Club Challenge.  Check the thermometer in your classroom to see how your class is doing.  The Food Drive ends on Dec. 10th.  Good luck!

Holiday Fun Run sign ups continue at lunch in F3.  Cost is 50 cents, but the event is lots of fun with teachers literally at every corner…and some of them will be right there with you running the course.  You won’t want to miss it!  Lots of prizes, and tons of fun.  Please join us.

Do you have any warm coats at your house that are no longer used?  If so, bring them to F3 to help us with our school-wide One Warm Coat Drive.  Some of our community members will greatly benefit from your kindness.

Centerville Mustangs- It is very important that we all pitch in and take care of our campus, but sadly students are not throwing their garbage out after eating at lunch. Not only is this harmful to our campus and environment, it is a burden to our hardworking staff that have to pick up after you. Students are no longer allowed to eat on the blacktop at all. If you eat on the blacktop, you will be asked to move. If you are caught eating on the blacktop, littering, leaving your garbage behind, or throwing any food or drink item, you will get a lunch detention or lunchtime campus cleanup. You may still continue eating at the lunch tables, in the gym, on the side of the gym outside, in the game room (when open), and between the F-G wings.

Yearbook:  You can order a yearbook online at (school code is  703282). With the early bird discount (offered until Dec. 31st), the cost is $30. After that, the price will go up to $35.

Did you know that it is a California state law that anyone aged 18 and under operating a bicycle, scooter or skateboard, or using roller skates/blades must legally wear a bicycle helmet.  Violating the state’s bicycle helmet laws can result in a fine up to $25.  It has been noticed that several students are not wearing a helmet.

Students, it really helps our traffic issues when you ride your bike or walk to school.  We just want to remind you to be extra careful and follow traffic rules.  Also, be sure to fully lock your bike.  Make sure your bike lock goes through your bike frame and also through the bike racks.  We've had some students that have experienced bike theft and we want to be sure to prevent this in the future.
